The Meeting of the Minds (October 28th - November 3rd) By: Jami McGuigan

This week, we have come together once again to discuss what could make our blog even more successful!

Something Additional:
As a group, we have decided to draw on aspects of the course readings to enhance our future weekly posts. In order to further explain how material from the class relates to the episodes we are watching, we realize that we need to incorporate quotes and theories by Amanda Lotz into our responses.

Our Discussion:
In this week’s group meeting, we discussed the over arching themes of our individual episodes and how they relate to the class and each other's blog posts. We also discussed the individual characters in SATC in relation to what we are learning about (how women have been represented in television).

Extra Posts we Have Decided to Create Throughout the Semester:
In addition to analyzing individual epiosdes and discussing those episodes with with one another, we have decided to incorporate “outside the box” topics to keep the  deeper thought process going on the blog!

1) Daren Star's other works (what else he has done that is related to/would have similar audiences as SATC) Ex: 90210
2) How the show is positioned industrially--Where is the show situated in relation to other programming trends, the contemporary television schedule, and within a larger networking strategy?
3) Are we reading the text in the way that it is asking to be read? (How are we watching?)
4) Tracking some of the discourse of this series (reviews, fan sites, reception, how it is received on the internet) including relevant web links

What is Working/What is Not Working:
So far, everything has been running very smoothly in the group! Last week it was difficult to organize posting our blogs in chronological order as everyone was very busy with midterms, papers, projects and everything else that comes along at the end of October. Luckily we managed to have a very successful meeting, and as a result we are all producing very interesting blog posts!

Stay tuned!
